  • WhatsApp is for people that want to communicate around the world (outside the US)
  • WeChat is great for national communication
  • Instagram stories is another powerful tool for personal branding
  • Instagram, facebook, and youtube links to your email will help exponentially
  • 4:05 – real estate
  • Sell yourself rather than push listings on business profiles
  • Scrap the business profile
      • Business profiles ONLY make sellers happy
      • What sets you apart from other brokers and agents is you, not the business
      • People want to see WHO YOU ARE not what you do or what your business does
      • People want to work with people that they can be friends and that’s very knowledgable
  • Instagram’s stories is used for right hooks
  • Give, give, give, then ask
  • Don’t just post your listings and open houses
  • Post your real life you on instagram and social media
  • Don’t overthink social media
  • Can you use controversy to bait people in your business? NO; but if it aligns with your passions, maybe.
  • If you do controversial posts for business and not personal reasons, DON’T
  • The story/narrative is what sells you
  • Videography: the more work you put in, the better you’ll get in front of the camera—it’s about the reps; get content out and deliver a bomb message.
  • Be very thoughtful in the product promise
      • Do not overpromise your product (you)
      • If you overpromise as an early adopter of your product, you could destroy the entire category
  • Be the machine you’re building
  • How do you bring value back?
      • Value is the trust, the knowledge and the feeling
      • The value is you in 360
      • You need to be on offense and not defense
      • People make a decision based on people—there’s no move that will make them see you otherwise
  • What’s the one thing we should be focused on?
      • Your truth; put out your truth
  • What about those who don’t create content but are document rather “boring” things?
      • Find the humor
      • Real estate can be awesome and huge
      • The idea of finding content and finding humor in it is interesting
      • But what if you’re not funny?
        • Literally be you. If you’re boring, deliver value, and are authentic, people will follow you
      • You can do Q&A shows on social media.
      • Content is the cost of entry to any relevance going forward.
  • Talk about what you know really well. People will talk about how much you know, but you’re in control with what information you want to put out.
  • If you’re getting in trouble, it’s because you’re listening—to what other people think.
  • 3 words of motivation: “You’re gonna die”
  • What’s your recommendation for starting in real estate marketing
      • Find the best agent and work for them for free
      • Listen to how they talk
      • See the emails they send
      • See how they schedule their day
      • Figure out how you build your day
      • When should you look for buyers and sellers
      • How do you follow up
      • Meet 5 people every day
        • Get their information
        • Get them to put your information in their phone
      • Your data base is your social currency
      • Do open houses for free (for leads)
      • Take the best and leave the rest
      • Who ever gives more, has the leverage
        • If you work for free, you’re ripping them off
  • If you have the money, would you increase your employee base or increase your social media base?
      • Employees; employees allow you to grow your business
      • Find the value within 100-120 days
  • How do I get employees to do XYZ?
      • You do it first and let your results pressure them then hire people to eat their lunch

My personal thoughts

  • Social media video content is a tool that literally anyone with a smartphone can create. Quality is not priority nor is how you look on camera—but it’s the message and value of the message it provides.
  • People buy and choose help over how they feel with certain people. If they don’t feel comfortable with you, they don’t buy. You need to be your authentic self on social media and allow your personality to attract those who WANT to follow you. Don’t worry about those who don’t follow you—it’s about casting your net into the world of social media through who you are, not by what you perceive yourself to be.

Conclusion

  • Focus on delivering value first, your “you” will emerge over time. Share what’s important to you because what’s important is authentic. It comes down to execution and getting in your “reps”—just repetition of doing over and over your social media posts.
